Francis Bernell "Coon" or "Punkin" Trahan
DeQuincy - Francis Bernell "Coon" or "Punkin" Trahan, 67, passed away at his home, Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Mr. Trahan was born in Cameron and lived in DeQuincy. He worked for Crain Bros. as a tugboat captain. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, hunting, watching his birds, chickens and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Evon Royer Trahan of DeQuincy; two sons, Tommy Trahan and wife Tonie of Sulphur and Raymond Trahan and wife Dawn of DeQuincy;...

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Evon Royer Trahan of DeQuincy; two sons, Tommy Trahan and wife Tonie of Sulphur and Raymond Trahan and wife Dawn of DeQuincy; two daughters, Christina Hutto and husband Chad of DeQuincy and Renee Maddox of DeQuincy; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; one brother, Jesse Nunez and wife Karen of Grand Lake; one sister, Barbara Wolfe of Grand Lake; and a sister-in-law, Patty Trahan of Grand Lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie Donald Trahan and Jewell Rutherford Sedlock; brothers, A.D., Jack, Pete and James Trahan; son-in-law Todd Maddox; sister-in-law, Boonie Trahan; and a brother-in-law, George Wolfe.
Mr. Trahan's funeral service will be at 2pm Tuesday, March 31, in Hixson Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery of DeQuincy. Visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm on Monday, March 30, and will resume Tuesday from 9am till time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
