Alvie "Aaron" Williams, 78, of Singer passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was a lifelong member of Mystic Baptist Church of Fields, where he served as deacon, Sunday school and training union teacher, music-leader, and he attended the Louisiana Baptist Conventions for many years. He shared his love of the Lord to everyone he encountered, and he had an incredible and infectious smile. He loved farming, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. Alvie "Aaron" Williams, 78, of Singer passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was a lifelong member of Mystic Baptist Church of Fields, where he served as deacon, Sunday school and training union teacher, music-leader, and he attended the Louisiana Baptist Conventions for many years. He shared his love of the Lord to everyone he encountered, and he had an incredible and infectious smile. He loved farming, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Virginia Williams of 54 & 1/2 years, two sons Lewis Williams of Orange, TX., David Williams of Singer, LA.; daughter Kathy Williams McElwrath of DeQuincy; one brother, Frank Williams of Lake Charles; two sisters, Iris Wilcox of Oretta, and Meryl Hennigan of Fields; six grandchildren, Sabrina, Lisa, Ashley, David, Whitney, and Dalton, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Alice Williams of Singer, and brothers Julius and Victor Williams of Singer, and his daughter-in-law, Trudy Duhon Williams of Fields.
Services will be held at 11:00am at Mystic Baptist Church on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Visitation will be held at Hixson Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm and will resume at the church on Thursday, from 10:00am until the time of the service.
